These are the second pattern of shovel cover with the moveable hook on the back. Where visible, these all seem to be dated 1944.
These were issued with the M1943 entrenching tool which was a copy of the German klappspaten, and itself far superior to the WWI M1910 shovels still in use at the start of the war.
Our remaining inventory of these all show signs of use but are in solid shape with no major fading, tears or repairs. Limited stock available.
